Submit: Eduthopia Poetry Prize 2021 | Deadline: 15th September

Eduthopia is inviting Nigerian poets to make poetry submissions on the theme: “Diversity: a road to unity” and stand a chance of winning cash prizes of up to a 100,000 Naira.

Eduthopia is a platform that publishes insightful literary works, calls for submissions, research/writing grants and, scholarship opportunities around the world.

Its poetry prize is to celebrate, promote and develop poetry from Nigeria and give many young people a platform to be heard.

This year’s is themed, “Diversity: a road to unity" and it is in conjunction with the swelling calls of secession across Nigeria in recent times, which in their opinion, has hindered mutualism between ethnicities and regions and thus resulting in massive destruction of people and properties.

Prizes to be Won:

1st Prize: N50,000

2nd Prize: N20,000

3rd Prize: N10,000

All successful entries will be published on the Eduthopia website.

Eligiblity: Nigerian poets above 15 are eligible to apply.

Deadline for Submission: Wednesday, September 15th.

Submission Guidelines:

1. Only poems written in English are accepted. Poems written in other languages should be translated into English.

2. Each entrant must submit one poem to be eligible.

3. The poems must be the original work of the author and previously unpublished. If a submission is found to have broken this rule, it will be automatically void.

4. Poem must be focused on the theme “Diversity: a road to unity".

5. Entry must not exceed 40 lines.

6. Entry should be sent in as an attached document (.doc or pdf format). The submission document must be name of the poet.

7. Entry should include a cover page carrying the author’s name.

8. All entries should be sent to poetryprize@eduthopia.com.

9. The subject of the mail should be Eduthopia Poetry Prize.
