Africanfuturism: An Anthology is a collection of Africanfuturist stories edited by Wole Talabi. The anthology features stories by Nnedi Okorafor, TL Huchu, Dilman Dila, Rafeeat Aliyu, Tlotlo Tsamaase, Mame Bougouma Diene, Mazi Nwonwu, and Derek Lubangakene.
The term Africanfuturism was coined by Nigerian SciFi and fantasy writer, Nnedi Okorafor to describe science fiction that is rooted in the African world. “Africanfuturism is specifically and more directly rooted in African culture, history, mythology and point-of-view…” Nnedi Okorafor wrote in her essay that explained the difference between Afrofuturism and Africanfuturism.
The anthology contains 8 stories by both emerging and seasoned African writers.
