Cover Reveal: E.C. Osondu’s BOA Prize-winning Collection, Alien Stories
Nigerian writer, E.C. Osondu took to his Twitter some hours ago, the reveal of the book cover of his BOA Prize-winning collection of short stories, Alien Stories.
Recall that in 2019, out of 321 submissions, E.C. Osondu won the $1,000 BOA Short Fiction Prize for the manuscript of his short story collection, Alien Stories. The win came with a spring 2021 publication deal with BOA Editions, Ltd., as part of its American Reader Series.
“With nimble dexterity and startling originality, E.C. Osondu shifts from Africa to America to outer space, uniting us all as ‘aliens’ within a complex and interconnected universe,” BOA Publisher Peter Conners commented in 2019 about the collection.
See cover below:
The cover shows a deserted room located at a seaside. There are two glass windows long enough to pass as doors invertedly opposite the shot’s POV, so that the windows have a clear view of a bustling sea. On the walls are dark inscriptions of signs maybe a language most likely made with black spray paints or charcoal. The floor of the room is ruined and covered in water which suggests that it has long being lived in or whoever is has no care.
Alien Stories will be out in spring, 2021.
Congrats E.C. Osondu!
